Almonds (whether eaten alone, or in a desert) and desert wines are to die for.
You can’t go wrong with Almonds and sherry, as sherry’s have that nutty quality to them. On a similar note, my favourite treat around Christmas time is chocolate covered almonds and a 20 year tawny port.
Sparkling wines, particularly Prosecco, and almonds is another fine match. The sparkling wine brings out a lot of pleasant flavours in Almonds, particularly if they are unsalted.
